Summer 2026

Problems/Annoyances (Consult YouTube, laugh, move forward, and have fun)- Check engine once this summer.  Air Conditioning issues- couldn't cool us down on our toughest run through the Nevada desert.  Jeep 12v outlet not working- couldn't use Jeep brake system while towing.  Propane tank was filled, but then not turned after filling and we didn't know why propane appliances were not working.  Didn't see a Grizzly Bear :-(

Loving/Nice Surprises (What we have enjoyed and are proud of so far)- Great Basin National Park was biggest surprise of the trip!  Awesome Alpine lakes, Bristlecone trees, cave tour, and dark skies star gazing.  We tried white water rafting and loved it.  We were nervous to go and now we would do it again.  We enjoyed our first hot springs pool.  We had fun interacting with Clydesdale horses and Kris participated in Goat Yoga.  Famous Red Bus Going to the Sun tour was fantastic..We enjoyed many Ranger talks and tours.

Day 1 - Mesquite, NV

And we are on the road!  Interstate 15 heading North.  Our normal first stay after a LONG drive across the hot desert.  New recliners!

Days 2 & 3 - Baker, NV

Great Basin National Park.  This park was an amazing surprise!  Stopped at our favorite place to eat along the 15 North!

Day 4 - Nephi, UT

Another fav stop along the 15 North.  We love site number 16!  Found a new great place to eat at Ashton's Burger Barn along the Looniest Road!

Day 5- Lava Hot Springs, ID

Who knew?!?!  We loved the Hot Springs.  The town was very cute and RV Park was excellent.  Wish we had more time to spend in Lava Hot Springs!

Day 6 - Melrose, MT

A new stop for us.  Great small fishing town.  Wonderful RV Park with super nice people.  Skunk parade!

Day 7 - Missuola, MT

Last stop before Glacier National Park.  Beautiful RV Park.  Jim and Mary's RV RV Park had gardens at each site.  Wonderful facility and people!  Stopped at a car and prison museum along the way.

Days 8-22 - West Glacier, MT

The destination for the 2026 summer trip.  2 Weeks in Glacier National Park.  Great people, adventures, and scenery.  Wonderful stay!  No Grizzly Bears and No Goats!

Days 23 & 24 - Flathead Lake, MT

Lots of rain.  Took a boat tour of Flathead Lake.  Enjoyed a craft and farmer's market.  Solid ice cream and traffic on the way out of town.

Days 25 & 26 - Butte, MT

Lots of rain and snow in the mountains above us.  Got a chance to get out and take a Trolley tour of old Butte City.  Saw grave site of Evil Kneivel

Day 27 - Shelley, ID

A favorite place for us to stay on the way home.  Beautiful county park.

Day 28 - Twin Falls, ID

Choate's Diner.  Waterfall and an amazing camping spot on the edge of the Snake River Gorge.

Day 29 - Winnemucca, NV

Another favorite place to stay on the way home.  Dinner at Wingers again.

Days 30 & 31 - Nephi, Utah

Reno and Carson City Nevada.  Saw Uncle Craig and had lunch.  Did the 4th of July thing and watched a bunch of sports on TV.  Hot days and nights.  Solid Frozen Yogurt.  Our kids got me a Father's Day gift card for Chili's Restaurant so we used it!

Day 32 - Bishop, CA

Last night on the road.  Home tomorrow so Kris can go get on an Alaskan Cruise!!  Stopped at The Barn in Bridgeport on the way to Bishop.  Very good.  Very popular place!  Hit the road at 5am to beat the heat through the desert!
